Hello there,

some of my students implemented a solution to use the OpenPCD RFID reader as an I2C sensor. I created a project here:

Currently there's no code in the svn but I will upload the next days, when I've cleaned the code a little. The OpenPCD firmware and Java classes may not be understand as final solution, but maybe they are helpfully for someone.
