Computer Science dissertation ideas with NXJ?

Hi,

I am a computer science student just starting my final year. Until the end of next week (28th of september) I need to decide a tittle for my final year project.

Would you have anything to recommend for me(using lego mindstorm of course)?

Any ideas welcome.

A good final project would be a rearch about social networks using New Lego mindstorm NXT.

This project would include the following fields:

Mechanics: To create a phisical Prototype
Telecommunications: To create a protocol to "speaks" using Bluetooth
Subsumptions: To create behaviors

Hi,

I only have one mindstorm and the university will not sponsor any others so its quite difficult to do something that has to do with networks...

I was thinking something with home surveillance using the mindstorm and a pc. What do u think about that?

Yes I think that you could do a good final project.

I will help you, because I research in that field too.

The first step is create a physical prototype.
Second Step, is create a bot class to manage all behaviors.
Third Step create a system to know the enviroment
Forth Step: ....

What i dont get is that how will i implement a social network with only one robot. And the other thing is that this network will have to be of some use (to do something) could you tell me what you have in mind, like what i could make it do?

Hi,

I was thinking to a robot which will guard a garden for example. if it detects motion it will send signals( this can be a picture taken or a video) to a pc the pc then will upload the data in the internet or send it in amobile to alert the house owner.

How does this idea sounds to you?

Hi again,

I told my supervisor my ideas about the home security project and he told me that it has too many areas for research (bluetooth, mobile,security, motion detection etc..) and i will need to find an idea which is focused in one thing... and it is also implementable.

Any ideas please???
