Help: I can't communicate with my robot NXT!!

Postby jilda » Sun Oct 14, 2012 9:59 am

Hi

Today I installed on my PC the software of Lego NXJ and the plugin for Eclipse
I wanted update the firmware of NXT with the Lego NXJ firmware
Then I switched on my robot NXT and I plugged the USB cable to my PC and to my robot
After reading the documentation of installation I clicked on the menu voce "Lego NXJ->Update Firmware"

After the confirmation of all request in the window of nxjflashg, the application wrote on the window:

Building firmware image.
VM file: C:\Program Files\leJOS NXJ\bin\lejos_nxt_rom.bin
Menu file: C:\Program Files\leJOS NXJ\bin\StartUpText.bin
Magic string found at offset 0x40
VM size: 55888 bytes.
Menu size: 47740 bytes.
Total image size 103804/104448 bytes.
Building filesystem image.
Locating device in firmware update mode.
No devices in firmware update mode were found.
Searching for other NXT devices.
Unable to locate a device in firmware update mode.
Please place the device in reset mode and try again.

-------------------

At this point the application flashed my firmware and now I can't communicate with my robot with the USB and Blutooth!!

What can I do?
Thanks in advance

Please try the command line version of nxjflash. Simply open a command prompt, and type "nxjflash"+Enter.
Copy/Paste the output.

According to the output of nxjflashg that you have posted, the firmware has definitely not been flashed. Actually, I believe the NXT is still in firmware update mode (is it ticking?) but Windows 7 has installed the wrong driver. Open the Windows Device Manager and tell me, under which name the Lego NXT appears.
