Controlling NXT/RCX Motors from USB port of a PC

Postby Francesco » Sat Jul 28, 2012 4:52 pm

Dear All,

I was wondering if it is possible to control NXT/RCX Motors from a PC, by using USB ports.
I know many NXT Sensors use I2C bus protocol, but I'm not sure about motors.

In case they adopt I2C interfaces I found an Open Hardware project for linux:
http://www.harbaum.org/till/i2c_tiny_usb/index.shtml

Has anyone worked on such integrations?
Any hints?

Regards,
Francesco

ps:
The forum search doesn't work ... I searched for I2C without success ... but exist messages with that topic

No, the motors don't use I2C.

I figured out that Arduino with the NXshield is a viable solution by me.
In this way I can control both motors and I2C sensors
