Hi All,

I have to say the new LCDUI implementation in 0.4 are great! I have tried them individually. Big thanks to Andre Nijholt!

But when I tried to nxj LCDUI sample, I got this error. I managed to make it happy again by dividing big methods into smaller ones, but still don't get the hanger of it. Anybody understand and can explain this problem please?

What error did you received?

I have used that example and I didnt have any error. see my example NXT comm. I used new library.

Are you running this under Eclipse?

What command or software gives the error message?

What Java version?

It worked for me.

No, I am running from windows command line window. I am using JdK 1.6.2.
I ran "nxj LCDUI", then I got the error. I searched internet, it sounds like a java compiler error.

Thanks for your reply. I have been checking answer for ages! I almost consider moving to NXC now, cause it doesn't require reflash my NXT firmware. So I could use NXT-G and C to program. As I am rather a C++ developer than Java. And EClipse runs too slow on my veteran laptop anyway.

It worked for me with JDK 1.6.0_01.

It could be a problem with 1.6.2.

Did you run:

nxjc LCDUI.java

with the same version of the JDK?

BTW, What language you use is a matter of personal choice. No one is going to get angry with you for not using Java. We just try to keep improving leJOS so that more people choose it.

Thanks for your advice! I was building with 1.4.2 from EClipse and link under 1.6.0. That's the cause!!!

I was testing NXC, just got a flavour of it. It lacks abstracted classes lejos has, don't even mention behavior packages. Java has its born advangtages such as OO and open source. I think we should emphsis this to attract more developers into this world.
