Windows Application C# (PC) <-> Lejos (RCX)

Hello!

My name is Kolja and I am new on programming the RCX. Thats why I am looking for some help...

I want the RCX run a programm which reacts on certain commands I send via windows PC using the USB IR tower. The commands are send by an application which also has to do jobs like copying files on the PC.

Referring to the topic communcation PC<->RCX I found some examples based on Lejos like instream/outstream - both examples work fine.

But I think to communicate via C#/MFC with the RCX using Lejos will be complicated and would take me a lot of time.

So, what would be the easiest way to realize my idea? Does anyone have a similar code example?

Help would be appreciated.

To send data from PC > RCX I suggest using RCXPort on the PC
To send data from RCX>PC I suggest RCXInputStream and RCXOutputStream. Read the setup instructions for using RCXPort you have to do a bit more than just setting up regular lejos use.

I am building a photocopier/scanner for PC<>RCX interaction. I use these, and they both do the job well. IR is slow though, so make the data you send mean a lot.
