Serial infrared tower

Postby aikmin » Wed Feb 06, 2008 7:52 pm

I would like to send and receive infrared signal using Lego's serial infrared tower, and i am trying to understand how it works. I am able to send infrared signal with no problem, but i am not able to receive unless I first send something out first. Anyone know how lego's serial tower works? Anyone interested in looking at the source code can contact me. Some info about my system: Win XP, using rxtxSerial.dll, and rxtxcomm.jar.

Yep, that's the behavior. One is the master and one is the slave. If you look at the leJOS code you can see how Lawrie got around this for sending and receiving using LCP.
