My NXT has gone silent- makes no sound at all. Any ideas about how to repair it?

Remove the speaker and measure its resistance. If it has no resistant or much more than 100 ohm, then its probably broken. It could be difficult to find a spare part.

If something else is broken, you need a new NXT. Chances are very low that you are able to repair the NXT printed cirquit board.

I think my first step would be to give Lego a call. They have been pretty good on replacing things for others in the past...

Hi,

This is happening to My NXT 2.0 brick as well, did you get a solution for this ?

It was working well until some time back , the brick stopped making any sound a couple of days before , i do not remember if i did any thing different.

I have installed the LeJos firmware. I have tried increasing the volume on the setting to maximum , but no luck.

I was using the sound class to PlayTone , it was working for some time before it stopped suddenly , is it possible to break the internal speaker by sending wrong values to the PlayTone method ?

Load the Lego firmware, does your NXT make sounds with that? If not contact Lego support....

It does not make the sound when lego firmware is being installed.
