Automated stretcher

Postby Katsarida » Mon May 21, 2012 9:41 am

Hi, everyone... so i have this idea of making a model of an automated stretcher using the Legos NXT robot...

In detail; i want it to get my voice and recognize what path i tell it to follow. The path will be colored lines on the floor. So depending on my command it will choose the correct line. The supersonic sensor will detect objects that are in the way, and will make a sound (maybe flash a light too). When it reaches the objective, it will wait for the return command where it goes back the starting point.

For the voice recognition part i've thought about Sphinx, but i'm not sure how to do it.

I'm a newbie in this, so any pointers and help are most welcome.

Ok, so I figured I don't need Sphinx for my project... i could just use Google Translate with speech recognition to get my voice and then take the translated text and send it to the robot... The problem is i don't know how to run google translate with the speech feature through java.. I've done a program before that uses google scholar to get titles and references, so this part i know how to do it. I only want the voice recognition feature to run also. Any help there?
