Eclipse plugin with juno.

This is where you talk about the NXJ software itself, installation issues, and programming talk.

Eclipse plugin with juno.

Postby foliot » Fri Jul 20, 2012 12:22 am

I upgraded to the new version of eclipse the other day (juno), and have discovered the lejos plugin to not work. I tried re-installing it to no avail. Is there a way around this or will I have to wait for a revised plugin?

I'm on linux, if that's relevant.

What does not work? Do you get any errors?

Not sure if this helps or not, but I've been using the SVN version of the plugin, with juno and not seen any problems.

There are no errors. No interface for the plugin is present at all. No button, no options in project properties or in window preferences. Maybe I'll give the svn version a shot, but perhaps it's just my eclipse installation.

In Eclipse, go to Help -> About Eclipse, then click "Installation Details". Is the leJOS plug-in listed there?

Not sure if the SVN version of the plugin will work with a none svn leJOS - Sven, can probably advise on this...

I think it should - but the user claims he doesn't see any parts of the plug-in (no leJOS menu, no leJOS context menu, etc.). So I think the error is more fundamental. Also, the last release and SVN trunk don't differ to a large degree, only the remote debugger stuff has been added, as far as I'm aware.

It is listed under installation details. I'm going to try to re-install eclipse before trying the svn version.

Yup. I did try re-installing eclipse to no avail. I still wouldn't say it isn't the problem, though.

I just downloaded a fresh "Eclipse for Java developers", then installed the plug-in from http://lejos.sourceforge.net/tools/eclipse/plugin/nxj/, and it installs and starts perfectly.
Show me a screenshot of your Installation Details.

It probably is my eclipse installation. I am not sure what, though.

Could you please start with a clean Eclipse, without a gazillion plug-ins installed? You seem to have installed ANY plug-in in existence.
