Is it cool if I do a survey and offer a raffle prize?

I am computer engineering student doing a school sponsored robotics development project (that uses the NXT). Is it cool if I hold a survey (hosted offsite) and offer a raffle prize?

I was thinking of raffling off an NXT Gyro sensor from HiTechnic, this is school sponsored so I have no problem offering a prize. Without offering anything I don't think I will collect too many data points. I'm not doing any of this to make money, and I promise not to give away any participant information.
