runjava.exe opens then closes immediately

When i clicked on runjava.exe (or the other .bat files), it opened and then immediately closed. I have tried going to "start," "run," then typing the file, but the exact same thing happens. Does anybody know what is wrong and/or how to fix it? I'm 13 and am having a little trouble.

it´s the normal behaviour of windows, after executing the programm, it closes the command box.
try start->run-> type "cmd" and enter. now you can use the command box to start the programs..

if you are not familiar with windows command box / DOS commandos, feel free to ask again

yea, sorry for the trouble, but i need some clarification. do i type in the file directory?
