Data from NXT Brick to Java Application via USB

I have made many java applications using the swing classes. I was wondering if I could gather data from a ultrasonic sensor and display it to the java application. Does anyone know how or knows of any good starting points?

It is easy exchange data with the PC - look at the BTSend and BTReceive examples, or NXTReceive, which works wih USB or Bluetooth.
You could also look at the DLTest sample and the DataViewer tool. That is another way to send data to the PC.
