I am working with Energizer AA alkalines

I just reflashed the firmware with the original LEGO software and figured out an infinite loop with their GUI tool (I'm a Java dev, so I barely looked at this to start with). Same problem

It's weird that it cuts out at exactly the same time, every time. I'd have thought a thermally triggered switch would have some sort of variation in timing...

I'll contact Lego tech support and let you know.

Hi,
Just out of interest is your NXT very new? This is pure speculation but the power control of the NXT is performed by a co processor and it is possible that Lego may have changed the way that that works... I have a 2.0 set on the way to me (should get it today), and I will try this test with that NXT when I get it...

It's about 2 months old.

Got a reply back from Lego, they're offering to swap it out, so I guess it must be a hardware issue.
