RFID Sensor

Hi,

In the RFIDSensor API Andy talks about High- and Low level commands and is recommending not to use the low level commands (as you need to set delays etc. there).

The problem is that I cannot see which commands are "high level" and which ones I should prefer to use (I need continuous reading).

Does anyone know what the specifications of the RFID Sensor are? So what is the maximum distance to read the chip and how long does the sensor need to recognize and read a chip? How "long" is the "id" of a chip - is it a single byte an integer or a long?

If you have a sensor, why not simply run some tests?


You could always look at the source of the driver:

I'm sure you can work out from that what the high level commands are.... Hint the only ones you probably care about are the readTransponder* calls...

The only details I know about for this sensor are available from the manufacturers web site...
